Quality & compliance

Specified, tested,
and certified

Every ERDI module is designed, machined, assembled and calibrated in-house, then tested against its published specification before it ships. This is how that promise is backed — cert by cert, unit by unit.

01 / PROCESS

One roof, five gates

How every unit reaches its spec

ERDI reinvests more than 15% of annual revenue into R&D. Production stays vertically integrated in-house — CNC machining, clean-room assembly and automated, per-unit calibration — so every module leaving the factory is tested against its published specification before it ships.

  1. 01

    Design

Optical, mechanical and electronics designed together so the module hits range, weight and envelope at once.

  2. 02

    CNC machining

Housings machined in-house to hold the datasheet envelope batch to batch.

  3. 03

    Clean assembly

Optical alignment and assembly in controlled conditions for stable ranging.

  4. 04

    Auto calibration

Output power and wavelength calibrated automatically on every single unit.

  5. 05

    100% test

Each module is verified against its published spec — nothing ships untested.

02 / COMPLIANCE

What we hold and what it buys you

Certifications

Each standard below is a line you can quote to your own customer. Need the certificate on file? Request it with your RFQ and we send the current document.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality management system

Certified design, production and quality-control process across every product line.

For youConsistent, audited process behind every batch — the units you qualify are the units you receive.

CE European conformity

Meets applicable EU health, safety and environmental protection requirements.

For youClears EU market entry, so your finished product inherits a compliant ranging module.

RoHS Restriction of Hazardous Substances

Free of the restricted substances covered by the EU RoHS directive.

For youPasses EU substance limits — one less compliance gap in your bill of materials.

FDA U.S. FDA laser product compliance

Meets FDA/CDRH requirements for laser products sold into the U.S. market.

For youLaser-product registration cleared for the U.S. market, ready to ship into North America.

IEC 60825-1 Laser product safety — Class 1

ERDI's 905 nm module lines are Class 1 eye-safe under IEC 60825-1: safe for use around people, no viewing restrictions.

For youClass 1 means no viewing restriction — safe to demo, align and operate around people.

MIL-STD-810G Environmental engineering — shock & vibration

Modules are tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration methods for field-grade durability.

For youSurvives the shock and vibration of airborne and vehicle mounts without drifting out of spec.

03 / EYE SAFETY

Safe around people

Class 1 is the selling point

Under IEC 60825-1, ERDI's 905 nm module lines are Class 1 eye-safe: safe under all reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, with no viewing restriction and no protective eyewear required. You can align, demonstrate and operate the device around people — including in training and civil deployments.

That is a real design advantage. High-power laser designators are typically Class 3B/4 — capable of eye damage, restricted in use, and export-sensitive. A Class-1 905 nm rangefinder gives night-vision, thermal and security products a distance readout without inheriting any of that risk.

Class 1 ERDI 905 nm rangefinder
Eye-safe · no viewing restriction · safe around people
Class 3B Many alignment lasers
Hazardous to the eye on direct exposure · controls required
Class 4 High-power designators
Eye & skin hazard · strict controls · export-sensitive

04 / ENVIRONMENT

What the field throws at it

Built to survive the mount

Field-grade durability isn't a claim on the box — it's the test regime the modules are qualified against.

810GMIL-STD tested

Shock and vibration methods for airborne and vehicle platforms — 1000 g/ms shock, 5–50–5 Hz vibration.

IP67Lens cavity

Sealed optics resist dust and water immersion for continuous outdoor duty.

-20/+60Operating °C

Typical operating band; a −40 ℃ low-temperature build is available on several series.

1500hMTBF

Designed reliability of ≥ 1500 hours mean time between failures.

Exact environmental limits vary by model — see each spec sheet for the qualified values.

05 / TRACEABILITY

Calibration & traceability

Every unit is calibrated automatically for output power and wavelength, and tested against its published specification before it leaves the line. Per-unit test data can be provided on request — useful when your own quality process needs incoming evidence, not just a datasheet.

100% tested Per-unit test data on request Automated calibration

Warranty & support

WARRANTY

2-year warranty

Every ERDI module carries a 2-year warranty. Within the first 12 months, any verified manufacturing defect is replaced with a brand-new unit free of charge. A 30-day trial/return window applies from delivery. Technical support is available for the lifetime of the product.

TRIAL

30-day trial / return

A 30-day trial and return window applies from delivery so you can qualify a sample on your own bench.

SUPPORT

Lifetime technical support

Integration and technical support direct from the engineers who build the modules.
